Sarri-ball, a long way to perfection at Chelsea.

Guardiola's City dominated Chelsea throughout the Community Shield match, which showed Sarri has a lot of work to do at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea looked out of sorts against a very good City side and honestly, they were lucky they did not lose by a bigger margin. Their defense looked weak, the midfield never got going and their attack was lacklustre.

Sarri's new system clearly needs time to be executed properly. The whole team has to adjust to Sarri-ball, which will be a challenge.

The new signing Jorginho is accustomed to that style of play, but he got a taste of English football in this match. The game moves a lot faster than it normally does in Italy and he never really got hold of the game against City. He gave away the ball a number of times. Moreover, he could not get any real attack going with his slick passing, like he did in Serie A last season. He will certainly do well when he plays with N'Golo Kante.

Chelsea also transformed to a classical back 4, and David Luiz struggled in a two man centre back pairing. Marcus Alonso was brilliant at left wing back last season, as he had plenty of freedom to go forward and less defensive duties. As a proper left back though, he struggled, which could be a worry for Sarri as the season progresses.

We could argue that Chelsea were without some of their big guns, but so were City. They were without De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling and Ederson, and still dominated the game.

The reality is that the new system will take time to be perfectly executed at Chelsea. The entire team has to get used to playing in a new way, and that is always a big challenge.
